Indeed, since NC31 (and Talk 21) the signaling server version from the Debian repos shows as outdated. I have been using it nonetheless, just that not all (new) features are available.

If you don't want to wait for a newer signaling version coming into the Debian repos (if that is ever going to happen) you can build the server from source. See https://kaamoscreations.com/blog/how-to-setup-nextcloud-spreed-signalin…

If you have the signalingserver from the repos installed, change the path in the systemd file to the new binary (then in /opt/nextcloud-spreed-signaling/bin/signaling). I also had to uncomment "#NoExecPaths=/" to avoid getting the error "Failed at step EXEC spawning." You may also need to install some dependencies for building, which you can find from the link above.

To summarise, with the self build signaling server you can run the latest signaling server version.
